Workshop’s objectives:

This workshop’s objective is to share different ubiquitous learning models for different education levels around the world. The workshop plans to use a half day and divides the half day into two sessions. In the first session, the workshop will provide the audiences opportunity to know the different ubiquitous learning models and experiences for different education levels, for examples, K-12, formal higher education, and adult education in Continuous Education Facilities and Open University, practically in different countries. At the second session, the workshop will use the round table discussion form instead of conventional panel discussion to encourage attendees’ involvement and to engage attendees’ motivation.

The workshop’s round table discussion session will offer attendees a platform and channel to discuss the problems they have encountered in applying ubiquitous learning technologies in their own instruction environment; to plan their long-term research direction in the context of building connections between researchers and/or educators; to apply the mature ubiquitous learning tools, systems, and technologies in their own instruction environment; and, to propose practical and/or research-oriented projects across geographical borders.

Call for papers and suggested topics:

During the past few years, the ubiquitous learning technologies, tools, systems, and models, are getting mature. The objective of this workshop is to offer the attendees a platform and source channel to realize how the currently ubiquitous learning research results and successful experiences are, and have opportunities to use and/or do collaborative works.

Suggested themes that the papers should be addressing include, but are not limited to:

ü          Practical experiences in using and/or applying ubiquitous learning technologies and/or models

ü          Successful cases (best practices)

ü          Not-so-successful cases and the lessons learnt

ü          Mature ubiquitous learning tools and/or systems

ü          Evaluation models for ubiquitous learning
